Aims:

1. Develop a novel advanced oxidation process (AOP) to remove residual organic substances in wastewater
2. Reduce energy consumption significantly compared to conventional AOP by using plasmonically enhanced photocatalysis (PEPcat)

Methods:

1. Develop photocatalytic nanostructures and scale-up for industrial production
2. Optimize process in lab-scale and subsequently construct plant
3. Operate pilot plant in China in test mode for one year including ecotoxicological investigations
